Only for fans of video nasties.

I remember seeing this on a VHS in the late 80s. Revisited it recently on a DVD. In the movie, a deranged serial killer Donny was burned as a kid by his dominating mother which made him insane. He keeps hearing his dead mothers dominating voices as the burnt body of his mother is still kept in the house a la Psycho style. He hears voices, sees bad dreams, acts weird at workplace. He is a total nut job. He picks up females n somehow lures them in his house n burns them alive to a crisp with a flame thrower in a steel-clad room in his basement. The single most impressive thing about the film, and what will likely either offend most is the first victim of Donny's rampage. The house itself is a brilliant piece of location scouting, and succeeds in first capturing, then magnifying, the twisted mental landscape of  our psycho protagonist. But the ending was a lil saving grace to an otherwise boring film. Coming to the bad points, the movie is very slow. Nothing happens in the first 50 mins or so n most of the killings r offscreen. There is zero tension n suspense. One can call it a poor mans version of Psycho n Deranged.

Pyro Psycho

Mom, do you ever get that burning feeling?

Two kinds of movies I love are Slashers and unintentionally hilarious films. Luckily, this low-budget Psycho rip-off fits both types.

Despite the scary poster, this movie is also complete void of frights, full of hilarious ADR'ing and so much padding, it incredibly makes the 82-minute runtime feel like three hours. But, hey, at least both titles ("The Burning" which I saw in the opening credits and "Don't Go in the House" everywhere else) fit.

Not-David Banner was burned by his mother as a child. Literally. So, with the help of some odd fairy voiceover, he decides to burn a few bridges, er females, once his mother passes. Well, that seems to be the main idea here, though it's only about 15% of the movie. The rest is Not-David Banner not hulking out, but very much trying to.

The film is almost a waste if not for the laughs the movie wasn't intending to invoke. I found myself cracking up at most of the bad dubbing (SEE: the church scene and marvel at how many words are spoken and how many you actually hear) and outbursts from most of the characters (SEE: the second Priest scene at the door, "I made your tea! Drink your tea!" and anything Not-David Banner says in private.)

Wish I could recommend it more, as stated, I love Slashers, but this one was so little slasher and much more outbursts. Both the yelling kind from the movie and the laughter from the audience.

Final thoughts: Day 1 of 2018 starts off with not a bang, but a yelp. Just glad *I* don't have that burning feeling. ...yet.

Parents please raise your kid properly

Came out one year after Halloween(1979) with the title like Don't Go in the House you might expect it to be a slasher movie but turned out it a psychological horror movie and a damn good one.The movie follow a disturbed man that very afraid of fire due to a sadistic act of his mother when he was young. After his mother die he start to hear a strange voice encourage him to get revenge on other woman by using the thing he afraid the most. There are some slasher elements in this movie like he always wearing a mask while killing with his weapon of choice is a flamethrower. The violence in this movie hit me hard cause it more easy to kill people with a knife but to torch them to dead it extremely painful and disturbing. There also some creepy moment that make me jump a couple of time by the perfect timing sound effect.I gotta say i enjoy the first half of this movie more but the awesome ending make up for it
