Introducing "Kane Hodder" as a bigger and better Jason Vorhees!!

The "Friday" saga continues stronger than ever now that the twisted minds of angst-ridden teenagers have become fine-tuned to the popular slasher genre and its stylish display of murder and bloodletting. A long two year wait after the previous "Jason Lives" only perpetuated this seventh chapter to new heights with a larger budget and some new ideas and of course, it introduces the towering figure of Kane Hodder who is without a doubt the most menacing Jason Vorhees to ever grace the screen.

Writers try a new tactic (hence, The New Blood) by giving the pretty and sympathetic lead heroin telekinetic powers to fight off Jason, She is tormented and ostracized by her peers which makes audiences happier to see them meet their grisly endings at the hands of a scarier than ever zombie-like Jason. Throw in a self-centered psychiatrist, concerned Mommy and hunky new boyfriend and you have a somewhat structured storyline to guide you through ninety minutes of senseless violence and death. You can also thank the producers for further pleasing fans by providing Jason with a variety of weapons and tools including his trusty trademark machete.

Our very large and versatile body count includes: Tent spike through neck, tent spike hurled and stuck in back, torso fisting, the notorious girl in sleeping bag smashed off of tree (personal favorite), ax to the face, garden sickle slashing, jaw crushing, party horn through the eye, chef's knife into gut, knife through neck, girl tossed out window, impaling by pruner, circular saw to the gut, ax through girl's head.

Believe it or not, the blood and kill scenes are kept to a minimum to retain the theatrical R rating. Director, John Carl Buechler never ceases to insult the intelligence of the audience not to mention the actors, who play some of the dumbest characters in movie history, and the action is laughable and unconvincing. Nevertheless, Kane Hodder's make-up and sheer presence make this worthwhile. Followed by "Jason Takes Manhattan"

New Blood is a GREAT friday sequel & a great supernatural Thriller in it's own right. This 1988 film has possibly the best looking Jason of the franchise!!! Jason looks like a half decomposed zombie with his spine showing & wet slimey ripped up clothes, looks Scary. Also a good performance by Lar parc Lincoln as Tina Shepard the troubled main character who has some kinda psychic powers & a great Hero to go up against Jason. All the other characters are just ok & are only there to be killed by Jason lol. NEW BLOOD is an exciting & supernatural Mystery with a dark gloomy Atmosphere & a good musical score, this is one of the best sequels it's great fun, exciting & really well directed.

My favorite of this Franchise!!!

Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood has always been one of my favorite Friday the 13th movies. The kills are awesome, definitely NOT a slow burner horror movie, this film is highly entertaining and there's so many victims in this film that receives gruesome and violent deaths from hockey mask killer, Jason Voorhees. Aside from multiple bloody deaths in this awesome movie, There is the protagonist of the film, Tina Shepherd, who is gifted with the ability of telekinesis (the ability to move objects and see the future using the power of the mind), telekinetic powers was also the main focus of the main character in the novel and films of 'Carrie'. Basically Friday the 13th Part 7 is Carrie White vs. Jason Voorhees. Very cool concept for this film!. Some of the acting wasnt impressive but I'm not gonna hound about that as much because after all it IS an 80s slasher flick. Bottom line, Friday the 13th Part 7 is an enjoyable horror slasher film on it's own but doesnt connect much with the other 6 films or the films that were made after this one. But my suggestion is, if you like cheesy campy 80s slasher flicks, and/or are a fan of Jason Voorhees...then definitely give this a watch! As for me this is my favorite of the Friday the 13th series and receives a strong 10 out of 10 rating from me!!.
