A great documentary in terms of storyline establishment and use of archival footage and relevant interviews. The way the story unfolds is interesting and almost jaw dropping at times. Some important lessons to be learned, DONT LENT MONEY TO A SUPPOSED BILLIONAIRE!

Wild story
Con-men selling pipe dreams and people falling for them! [+63%]
Now that Netflix has run out of serial killers to make documentaries on, it looks like they've moved on to con-men. A couple of weeks ago, there was The Puppet Master, which I thought was an incredible piece of work with many edge-of-the-seat moments. The Tinder Swindler, on the other hand, isn't an out-and-out thriller. It spends the first hour looking at two swindled victims and their somewhat flawed outlook on "swiping" with the expectation of finding true love. There's an odd comparison of high-profile lifestyles at play, especially when it's evident that the internet is as fake as it is real. Remarks along the lines of "I was impressed by how he carried himself" made me sigh.
But the makers quickly move on to the actual conning part, where the interesting bits are. There's a really thrilling stretch in the last half hour, with one of the swindler's exes getting back at him in her own sweet way. The end moments leave you angry and distressed, though, wondering if one can get away with scamming so many people so easily.
Vapid Dingbat Foolishly Makes Herself A Victim
This woman comes off as incredibly narcissistic, incessantly focused on MONEY, and can't be bothered to even the most logical due diligence.
It's hard to get far enough into the story to feel even an ounce of empathy due to this idiot's narrow focus on GAH private jet!! GAH Rolls Royce!! GAH caviar!! GAH MONEYYYY!!!
Maybe if she weren't so hyper focused on how much someone has she might have realized how incredibly dangerous the very first date was, never mind anything that happened afterwards.
This is not victim blaming, this is HOW COULD YOU BE SO INCREDIBLY DUMB WITHOUT EVEN CONSIDERING YOU WILLINGLY JUMPED ON A PLANE WITH SOMEONE YOU DID NOT KNOW WITH NO IDEA WHERE YOU WERE GOING OR DOING, and he brings a small child as a means of a false sense of trust.
Chrissakes you cannot be serious with this.
